How to Choose a Split Solar LED Street Light: 30W/60W Off-Grid Road Lighting

What is a split solar street light?

Simply put, it is a solar light whose lamp head and solar panel are designed as separate parts. During the day, the panel charges a built-in battery; at night, the lamp turns on automatically. Compared with all-in-one designs, the biggest advantage of the split type is that the panel angle can be adjusted independently to face the sun, boosting charging efficiency.

Take the Y Series split solar LED street light as an example. It comes in two power options, 30W and 60W, delivering 3600 lumens and 7200 lumens respectively, with a color rendering index of Ra>80 for true-to-life color. Four color temperatures are available—3000K (warm white), 4000K (natural white), 5000K, and 6000K (cool white)—to match different road ambiences.

Three key specs to check before buying

1. Lumen output. Higher wattage does not always mean brighter—check how much light each watt produces. 30W giving 3600 lm and 60W giving 7200 lm means more brightness for the same power, saving energy.

2. Color rendering index (CRI). Ra>80 means colors at night look close to what you see in daylight, improving recognition of pedestrians and vehicles, and making night driving safer.

3. Light distribution. This model offers six professional road optics—Type I, II, III, I/II, residential road, and wide road patterns. Narrow village lanes and wide suburban arterial roads each have a matching beam pattern, producing even, glare-free pavement light with no dark zones.

Flexible battery and panel configuration

The built-in battery is lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4), available in 30Ah/45Ah/60Ah, offering long life, heat resistance, and better safety. The polycrystalline silicon solar panel comes in 40W/50W/60W/80W options. Sunny regions can use smaller capacity, while rainy areas can pair a larger battery with a higher-power panel to keep the light running through consecutive cloudy days.

Two mounting options for different sites

It supports both a 6-meter pole mount and a wall bracket mount. For roads that need full-length illumination, use the pole; for parking lots and park walls, simply wall-mount it. The housing is die-cast aluminum alloy for corrosion resistance and heat dissipation, and the LED is rated for 50,000 hours—more than 13 years at 10 hours of nightly use.

Where does it fit?

Rural roads, suburban streets, park trails, parking lots, industrial parks, and villa gardens—anywhere with no power, expensive grid connection, or a desire to cut electricity bills—are ideal for split solar street lights. Zero electricity cost, zero wiring, minimal maintenance: install it and it just works.

Choosing a solar street light is really about choosing the right configuration, not the appearance. From wattage, lumens, and CRI to light distribution and battery-panel pairing, every detail directly affects nighttime lighting performance. We hope this guide helps you make a smarter purchase.
